Although this is not a pre-requisite prior to attending the Powerboat Advanced course, it is a great way to experience operating vessels at night and will give you a good insight to some areas that you will be covered during it.

This is an Intermediate level event, for students who are comfortable with powerboat handling and daytime passage making and are now looking for their first night experience or to add additional night hours to their logbook.

This also a great event for sailing students, who are looking to build additional night hours& experience, (but they 'Must hold at least a RYA Powerboat Level 2 Certificate').

With the chance to gain experience in 'Night Time' Navigation, using different skills in a totally different environment, on possibly, a different type of vessel, you will have the opportunity to undertake and complete a navigational plan (either one pre-selected by our Advanced Powerboat Instructor or one you have produced yourself), within Southampton Water & the Solent.  This will allow you to appreciate the many differences, in the way the waters and other vessels appear whilst operating at night.
